In this presentation, Minister of Health Dr. Ximena Aguilera addresses five main areas: a brief historical overview of Chile’s health system to understand its current state; an analysis of its achievements and strengths, highlighting its successes and shortcomings from an international perspective; an examination of persistent challenges and the widening equity gaps between the public and private sectors; a presentation of the strategic transformations being implemented to achieve a more integrated mixed health system; and, finally, a reflection on the future of Chile’s health system, with particular attention to the impact of population
aging and the ongoing technological revolution.
