Abstract

Introduction: Spatial analysis has been utilized for various purposes among populations living with HIV, with most information focusing on incidence rates in specific areas. The aim of this comprehensive review is to synthesize the applications of spatial analysis within this demographic.

Materials and Methods: The methodology for this scooping review was developed by PRIS-MA-SCR (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews) and adjusted by Tricco et al.13, for scooping reviews. Results: The findings were organized into five distinct categories: 1. Cluster detection, 2. Special Epidemiology, 3. Spatio-Temporal analysis, 4. Accessibility to health services and, 5. Methods of prevention and joint models of associated diseases.

Discussion: The results demonstrate the diverse applications of this analysis across various contexts, highlighting how the objectives of each study exemplify the significant contribu-tions of this methodology to combating the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
