Abstract

Introduction: At the Eloisa Díaz Insunza Clinical Hospital in La Florida, the Care Center Unit for officials (CAIF) registers, receives, notifies, and follows up on all staff cases with COVID-19 from March 2020 to the present. Objective: This article aims to describe the demographic characteristics and the incidence of SARS-CoV-2 infection in the health personnel of the Eloísa Díaz Insunza Clinical Hospital. Materials and Methods: Retrospective descriptive study of the cas es of SARS-CoV-2 in the Health Personnel between March 1 and November 30, 2020, at La Florida Hospital. Results: The infected HLF PS reached 761 cases, 23,46% of the total staff (3.243 officials). The Technical Unit presented the largest number of patients, with 287 infected. The Medium Adult Care Unit presented the highest number of PS cases with COVID-19, totaling 144. The average age was 35.5 years old for both sexes. Of the total number of infections, 257 are men, and 504 are women, 33.5% and 66.5%, respectively. One deceased. Conclusion: The study allows a local descriptive analysis of the impact of COVID-19 on the employees of La Florida Hospital in the first stage of the pandemic in Chile.
