Abstract

From Diogenes from Sinope’s figure and across a contrast with the platonic Socrates and with the Plato of Diogenes Laertius, this text aims to show that the representation of the philosopher as a paradigmatic figure supposes a work of appropriation, modification and denia of the values, practices and representations of the cultural imaginary of classic Greece.
